Kneeling Roll
Rule L9.1A kneeling roll provides comfortable support. It must be round and not more than 8 inches long and 6 inches in diameter.
Rule L9.1A kneeling roll can be made from a canvas or heavy cloth bag filled about 80% full of wood chips or birdseed.
Rule L9.1Another method is to fold a regular size bath towel in thirds lengthwise, roll it, and wrap masking or strapping tape around the roll.

Rule L9.2Right-handed shooters reach the kneeling position at a 45 degree angle to the target, to the right of the line of aim, dropping to the right knee.
Rule L9.2The left foot should be extended as far forward as is comfortable.
Rule L9.2The right leg is placed flat on the floor or ground. The shooter sits on the right foot which is flat on the ground, rotated inward.
Rule L9.2The right elbow is free and not supported. The left knee supports the left elbow.

Rule L9.3Right-handed shooters kneel at a 45 degree angle to the right of the line of aim.
Rule L9.3If a kneeling roll is used, the right instep rests directly across the roll with the toes of the right foot touching the ground.
Rule L9.3The left knee is bent so that the lower leg is in a vertical position. The left arm is well under the gun.
Rule L9.3The left elbow rests naturally, ahead of or behind the flat spot on top of the left knee.
Rule L9.3The left elbow should be supported on the left knee. The point of the elbow may not be more than 10 centimeters (4 inches) from the point of the knee.
Rule L9.3The BB gun may be held by means of the sling. If the kneeling roll is placed under the instep, the foot may not be turned at an angle of more than 45 degrees.
Rule L9.3If the kneeling roll is not used, the foot may be positioned at any angle, including placing the side of the foot and lower leg in contact with the ground.
Rule L9.3No portion of the upper leg or buttocks may touch the ground at any point.
Rule L9.3Competitors may kneel completely on the mat or have only one or two of the three points of contact (toe, knee, foot) on the mat.

The Standing Position
Rule L9.4Competitors shall stand free with both feet completely on the ground. The sling cannot be used in the standing position.
Rule L9.4Right-handed shooters stand facing about 90 degrees to the right of the line of fire.
Rule L9.4Place your feet about shoulder width apart. Legs should be straight but knees are not in a locked position.
Rule L9.4The left elbow should be directly under the gun.
Rule L9.4The spine should be bent back over the hips with shoulders twisted toward the target.
Rule L9.4The left hand should be spread along the forearm, supported by the fingers, with the thumb supporting the trigger guard.
