Rule 17NRA National Records shall be established only by American Citizens who are NRA members or Junior members of the NRA affiliated clubs.
Rule 17National Records may be established only during active tournament conditions in Registered tournaments in which the shooter is a duly registered competitor.
Rule 17In order for records to be recognized promptly, National Record Reporting forms must be submitted to NRA by the Statistical Officer of the Tournament after being certified by the Jury accompanied by any electronic targets only and Tournament Result Bulletin.

Rule 17.1To be recognized as National Records, scores must be fired in an NRA Registered Tournament.

Rule 17.3.1In individual matches, competitors who fire a perfect score (see Rule 14.11b) may continue to fire for the purpose of establishing National Records or breaking ties.
Rule 17.3.1The competitor may continue shooting until a hit is made outside the scoring ring of highest value to provide a means of breaking ties and establishing National Records over courses for which National Records are recognized.
Rule 17.3.1On multiple bullseye targets scoring will be conducted on targets in the order they are numbered.
Rule 17.3.1In four position matches, the competitor will continue to fire in the standing position.

Rule 17.4Such scores must be fired in matches where teams fire as a unit.
Rule 17.4National Records will be recognized only when the team concerned entered such match.
Rule 17.4National Records will not be recognized for 'pickup' teams (teams made up of competitors who do not all represent one of the groups outlined in Rule 2.11).
Rule 17.4Team records may be shot using designated firing members only. Alternates may be used per Rule 12.4 only.

Rule 17.5National Records are maintained only for scores fired over the following BB gun courses for 'Intermediate Junior' (see rule 2.3), and 'Sub-Junior' categories.
